Release Date Announced For Atmospheric Survival Climber Cairn

Prepare to reach the top of the unforgiving Mount Kami.

The Game Bakers, the indie developer behind Furi and Haven, has announced the release date of their next game, Cairn, an atmospheric survival-climber that we covered a few times in the past.

Just like in reality, when you climb and a difficult mountain blocks your way, the hope of seeing something cheerful behind it encourages you to conquer the height and harsh weather. In this announcement clip, the cheerful message is the release date, which gradually appears as you move forward.

If you missed our previous articles about Cairn, it boasts a realistic simulation of mountain climbing. Players control the protagonist Aava and can decide where to climb by checking the rock face and planning the route carefully, finding the best places for limbs, and adjusting your poses to ensure you are well-balanced to move upwards.

The journey to conquer Mount Kami is quite lonely, as no one has ever reached its peak, but Aava has made it her dream. Along the way, she will also meet unexpected companions as she discovers the mountain's history. The game also offers an expedition mode where players can choose from a variety of roles and climbing styles, including alpine and free solo.

Besides its fantastic inventory menu, Cairn also boasts an amazing atmosphere, which you can peek at through the recently shared clips on the developers' social media:

Cairn will be available on Steam and PlayStation 5 when it launches on November 5. Be sure to mark your calendar and add the game to your wishlist on your preferred platform to ensure you don’t miss out on its release. If you're interested in trying the game, don't forget to take a look at the demo version.
