Rigging Mechanical Legs in Blender

Aender Lara demonstrated a stunning rig made in Blender using Bones and Constraints.

3D Environment Artist Aender Lara has shown an absolutely astonishing rig of a mechanical leg. According to the artist, the rig was made in Blender using Bones and Constraints, two ways to control an object’s properties in the software. The artist's stunning rig can rotate and move in a variety of intricate ways and the hydraulics make the movements look natural and well-designed.

This mechanical leg is a part of a bigger project created by Aender. Last week, the author showed an amazing Gazebo Store project, modeled in Blender, textured in Substance 3D Painter, and rendered in Unity. The project combines general stores, gazebos, and rockets and took the artist two years to complete. The final model has about 485k tris, according to the artist.
