Steven Knipping has updated his newest showreel and shared some of his advice on volumetric clouds simulation in a new tutorial.

Steven Knipping is a very experienced FX artist. He worked on a lot of exciting projects in DreamWorks Animation, Atomic Fiction, The Mill and Industrial Light & Magic. His main specialty is FX/ Rigid Body Simulation, which means he knows how to destroy stuff to tiny little pieces on screen. He does amazing explosions, destruction and stuff blowing up in small pieces. You can see some of his most recent work in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Age of Ultron and the newest Warcraft film.

What’s cool about Steven is that he actually recorded a bunch of tutorials, which can help you to master his workflow and build your own amazing volumetric clouds. The tutorial costs like $70 with a discount but the first part of it is free, so you can easily download the start and figure out if you need it.

Sadly, he doesn’t have a nice tutorial on destruction simulation, but maybe he’ll upload it someday in the future.
