Are games from years ago now starting to join the trend of higher prices?

If you’ve just convinced yourself to accept the tough trend of rising prices for video games and gaming devices in the future, as major publishers and console producers have either announced or considered increasing costs, this new discovery might not be a welcomed one: some released games, even from many years ago, may also cost you more.
As spotted by Pure Xbox, both Red Dead Redemption, released 15 years ago, and its prequel from eight years ago, Red Dead Redemption 2, have seen their digital versions costing £5 more on the Xbox Store and now cost £29.99 and £59.99 respectively.
Notably, this happens to certain regions, with the UK, the Czech Republic, Chile, and Brazil being affected, while the US and most countries that use the euro as currency are lucky enough to be free from it.
Meanwhile, Push Square found that Rockstar also increased the prices for the game's PS4 port, released in 2023, by £10, which is now £49.99. The prequel price has gone up £5 since April. The bundle, which includes both games, also reflects the price increases on both platforms, now costing £15 more with the current price tag of £99.99.
Price tracking site psprices shows us when these changes occurred. Below is proof showing Red Dead Redemption on PS4 and the bundle on Xbox raised prices as early as April:
The prices of both games on Steam and the Epic Games Store remain unchanged at this moment. It's unclear why some platforms and countries are targeted for the price increase and it also remains a mystery if other regions will follow it soon.
