Rumors claim that CD Projekt Red's fantasy title The Witcher 3 might get new content this year.
Information about the expansion of the game's world first surfaced last summer, when industry insider Borys Nieśpielak hinted at a potential DLC for The Witcher 3. In his podcast, he said that the project was being created by the Fool's Theory studio, responsible for The Witcher 1 remake.
Now, a recent report states that the insider confirmed his previous suggestions and pointed out another detail that could further support speculation about additional content for The Witcher 3: in the studio's financial report dated November 2025, CD Projekt Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubowicz said about a possible release of new content:
"Given our current progress, there is a chance that new content hinted upon in recent calls and reports may see release in the coming year, having an impact on our results and increasing the likelihood of achieving the earnings condition for the first stage of the incentive program."
More hints pointing to the expansion of the game's world can be found in two mentions highlighted by IGN. During an investor call, joint studio CEO Michał Nowakowski referred to an "other project" being developed by Fool's Theory alongside The Witcher 1 remake and The Witcher 4. Meanwhile, Polish analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski stated that he expected "the next paid add-on (DLC) for The Witcher 3 to be released in May 2026."
While this may be exciting news for fans, CD Projekt Red has not made any official statements regarding new content for The Witcher 3.
As for the next entry in the franchise, the highly anticipated The Witcher 4, the studio shared that it would not launch in 2026, while the new trilogy following the released games is planned to be released within six years.
