See How Kung Fu Panda 4's Animations Looked in Pre-Production

Spot the differences.

In case you missed it, earlier this month, a talented Animator and Storyboard Artist Geoff Wheeler opened the portal to a AAA animation studio's backstage, demonstrating how a couple of animation sequences from DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda 4 looked during pre-production.

Depicting Po and Zhen running away from a crowd of angry bulls, Geoff's demo compares the 2D blocking pass to the final result seen in the movie, allowing you to play a fun game of "spot the differences". According to the author, in this particular case, blocking out CG shots with hand-drawn animation helped him get started earlier, thus saving a lot of time in the end. Speaking of Kung Fu Panda 4, back in March, Senior Animator at DreamWorks Justin Weg shared a self-made animation reference created for the film's "inner peace meditation" sequence:
