Sequel to This Stylish Hand-Drawn Dark Fantasy Point-and-Click Adventure Is Coming Today

Solve puzzles and make morally ambiguous choices.

Tormentum is a point-and-click puzzle game you might not remember by name but will definitely recognize from its dark, hand-drawn environments. OhNoo Studio released it in 2015, but today, you can dive back into the eerie universe when its sequel hits Steam.

You don't need to play the original before launching the sequel, but I recommend doing so just to feel the atmosphere. Just like there, in the new game, you will explore the dark world, solve puzzles, and make morally ambiguous choices that affect the ending.

"You play as David, who is building a simulation populated by beings capable of human-level thought. Every night, he dreams of a locked chest and hears a woman's voice calling to him. When an anonymous seller offers him a mysterious coprocessor, parts of the dream begin to surface while he is awake.

"David installs the new hardware. He wakes in a prison on an island surrounded by open sea. Somehow, he is inside his own simulation."

Traverse 200 hand-drawn scenes to find out why David's creation no longer obeys him in 8 to 12 hours – quite a bit longer than in Tormentum 1.

The sequel took almost eight years in the hands of only two developers, Piotr Ruszkowski and Łukasz Rutkowski.

"When we started work on Tormentum II, the kind of artificial intelligence we imagined still felt like science fiction. Eight years later, AI is part of everyday life. The story now feels closer to reality than we ever expected," Rutkowski said.
