SideFX Announced Tutorial Contest for Houdini 21

Entries are accepted until December 31.

SideFX announced the How To Houdini Tutorial Contest, a contest of tutorials where artists can share their Houdini 21 knowledge and win prizes.
The competition, held for the first time, invites artists and educators to submit their tutorials through their profiles on the SideFX website. Submissions can be video-based or text-based.
The contest started on October 1, and entries are accepted until midnight on December 31, 2025. Therefore, tutorials submitted by December 30, 2025, will be automatically entered. In January 2026, voting will take place, and the winners will be announced next February.

The submitted tutorial should fit into one of the four lesson types:

  • Beginner Lesson
  • Node Reference Lesson
  • Gamedev & Realtime Lesson
  • Production Workflow Lesson

Apart from this, the tutorials should fall into one of the categories based on their topic, such as VFX, World Building, LookDev, Characters, Modeling, Pipeline and AI, and Gamedev/Realtime.

The prizes are available for each of the four lesson types, along with a Grand Prize, which includes one year of Houdini FX, Houdini Merch, a book by Alasgar Hasanov titled "VFX Made Easy with Houdini," and a free three-month access to Houdini.school tutorial library.

The Lesson Type Winners will receive one year of Houdini Indie, Houdini Merch, a book by Alasgar Hasanov titled "VFX Made Easy with Houdini," and a free three-month access to Houdini.school tutorial library.
