Check out Jan Hebein's latest experiment with digital flames.
Take a look at this mesmerizingly beautiful 3D fire simulation created by Jan Hebein, a brilliant 3D Artist and expert in all things Houdini. Powered by SideFX's procedural software, the simulation was set up as an R&D test using Theory Accelerated's Axiom Solver, a powerful and free solution that empowers artists to build high-end visual effects such as fire, smoke, and pyrotechnics. Additionally, the creator employed Karma XPU, a selectable engine within Houdini's Karma renderer that utilizes both CPU and GPU resources simultaneously, to render the sim.
"For me, it's way faster than the vanilla Houdini Pyro solver and much easier and faster to set up and use," commented Jan on his experience with Axiom. "I use it for small-scale sims and the last few days for fire and it's great. This sim (quite high-res) only took about a minute to simulate."
Going forward, Jan plans to share even more incredible simulations, so we highly encourage you to follow the creator on Twitter and LinkedIn so as not to miss any future updates.
