Smooth 3D LEGO Assembly Animation in Houdini & Unreal Engine

Johan Borgström showcased an impressive animation one can mistake for an official LEGO promo.

Motion Designer Johan Borgström continues his series of automotive 3D animations with yet another incredible sequence one can easily mistake for an official LEGO promo video. This time, the creator let his talent shine by setting up a smooth LEGO Jeep assembly animation using a combination of Megascans, Houdini, and Unreal Engine 5.

The vehicle and floor were animated in Houdini, with Megascans used for some of the props and materials featured in the demo. Lighting, rendering, and editing were done in Unreal Engine 5.4 using its Path Tracer and Sequencer tools, while the final color grading was completed in DaVinci Resolve. The Jeep model itself comes from Mecabricks and was created by Batka.
