Solve Spatial Puzzles in This Video Game Using Real LEGO Bricks

Erik Liermann has a promising idea.

Game developer Erik Liermann came up with a cool concept that both kids and adults will surely find interesting. He made a prototype of a video game where you solve puzzles using real-life LEGO bricks and a webcam.

The idea was born from Liermann's desire to play games with his daughter but limit the screen time. He did the conversion via the OpenCV computer vision library using Unreal Engine 5.5.

Liermann says that this is just a tech demo, and he doesn't plan to release the full game, but I think it's a great idea, even though, as some people mentioned, it's easier to make the mechanics in-game only, without the real bricks.

Liermann has some curious hand-tracking experiments with Unreal Engine on Reddit, check out his account to see where his projects lead him.
