Some RAM Options Now Cost More Than New GPUs, Report Says
Never saw it coming.

When building a PC, the most expensive part is usually the GPU, but not for long, it seems, as the prices for RAM are getting higher. In fact, they can be so high that even new graphics cards are cheaper.
According to Insider Gaming, the RAM prices grew 250% in November, and now, they have jumped another 25% since November 26 on average, with some options becoming 50% more expensive. So, you can now spend less money on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series and AMD Radeon RX 9000 series than on some RAM.
"A new ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 is available for $549.99 while an ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT can be had for $599.99. Even an RTX 5070 Ti, which costs an average of $749.99, is cheaper than some 64GB packs, like the Corsair Vengeance," the outlet says.
But it's the comparison between RAM prices at the beginning of November and mid-December that might shock you. In less than 2 months, some options skyrocketed 3 to 4 times.
And I'm afraid it's not the end: not long ago, Micron, a company that produces computer memory and data storage, announced that it would stop providing RAM to PC owners, focusing on AI companies instead.
