The company dissuaded the rumor that it reduced the production of PlayStation VR2 based on lower-than-expected pre-orders.
PlayStation has addressed recent reports regarding PlayStation VR2 pre-orders and cutting the device's production numbers.
Earlier, Bloomberg released a report citing sources stating that Sony had to reduce its shipment forecast for PlayStation VR2 due to lower-than-expected pre-order numbers and was planning to release one million units in the first quarter, down from its original goal of two million.
Now, Sony dissuaded this rumor in a statement to GamesIndustry.biz. The company noted that it has "not cut PlayStation VR2 production numbers" and that it is "seeing enthusiasm from PlayStation fans for the upcoming launch, which includes more than 30 titles."
The PS VR2 will be available on February 22 and will come with a variety of games, including Horizon Call Of The Mountain, No Man’s Sky, and Resident Evil Village. The device will retail for $550.
