One of the most anticipated indie games, Slay the Spire 2, is swimming in praise, with over 500,000 concurrent players enjoying it in the past 3 days. Surprisingly, the sequel to many people's favorite roguelike launched to a relatively modest 177,362 simultaneous players and grew three times that number – quite different from what usually happens.
568,884 Steam users played the game at its peak, savoring familiar mechanics, this time brought by Godot – as promised when the developers moved on from Unity after it announced its Runtime Fee.

Godot is getting more popular by the day, appealing to game creators, who appreciate its open-source nature. Buckshot Roulette's developer, Mike Klubnika, for example, likes the engine's speed and the AnimationPlayer, which he used for his s.p.l.i.t hacking simulator.
Meanwhile, Slay the Spire 2 is placed first in top sellers and wishlist activity, according to SteamDB.
