Also introducing real-world displacement and Creative Cloud plug-ins support to automate tasks and customize workflows.
It's been a while since Substance 3D Painter received an update, and this one brings a range of improvements designed to help artists work more efficiently. The standout feature is the new Ribbon Tool, which simplifies painting complex, repeating details, such as stitches, zippers, welds, or even text, on curved surfaces and intricate geometry.
Rather than manually placing each element or struggling with stretching artifacts, you can now paint with patches that maintain consistent visual quality.

You can now also apply symmetry to fill layers and effects, making mirrored decals, patterns, and projections easier and more consistent. The new symmetry section in layer properties includes a flip option for instant mirroring, supports 3D projection modes, and is accessible via the Python API for studios creating scripting tools.
Substance 3D Painter 11.1 introduces Physical Displacement, allowing you to define and preview surface geometry changes using real-world units. This is especially useful for product visualization and digital twin creation, where scale accuracy matters.

Substance 3D CCD plug-ins are now supported in both 3D Painter and 3D Designer, enabling task automation and workflow customization via a public Python API. The first two plug-ins include Random Seed Batch Changer for 3D Painter, which quickly generates texture variations by updating all random seeds in a project, and Node Snippet Saver for 3D Designer, allowing artists to save and reuse custom node graph setups like macros.
