Should we all start planning our sick days now?

A few days ago, during Take-Two Interactive's Fiscal Year 2024 earnings call, a crucial update about the release of the eagerly awaited Grand Theft Auto VI from Rockstar was revealed. The game is now anticipated to launch in Fall 2025.
Take-Two's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, subsequently had a conversation with CNBC in which he expressed strong confidence in the new release window, as spotted by VGC.
During the interview, Zelnick was asked to talk about the timing of the release, and he said:
“There are elements that you can actually measure, for example the number of bugs in a title, and every one of us will make sure we have as few bugs as possible before we launch.
However, in the case of an extraordinary title, for which there are extraordinary expectations, it’s not really about bugs, it’s about creating an experience that no one’s seen before, and Rockstar Games seeks perfection in what they do. And perfection is indeed hard to measure, it really is more subjective than objective.”

Zelnick was later asked about how confident he is in achieving the Fall 2025 launch window for GTA VI. He acknowledged the slippages in the industry, but reinforced his confidence, stating, “We narrowed the timing because we are highly confident in that timing.”
Given the extraordinary success of GTA V, which has sold over 2 million copies according to the publisher, it's no wonder that anticipation for GTA VI has reached a fever pitch. We may need to exercise a bit more patience in the upcoming months, allowing the team ample time to perfect the game.
