Terrain and Landscape Tool World Creator 3 Released

The GPU-based terrain generator is now independent of Unity and offers new filters and a modified interface.

BiteTheBytes released World Creator 3 – a real-time GPU-based terrain and landscape creation tool. Now independent of Unity, it offers more tools and features than in the previous versions, improving workflow and performance.

You can create terrains by using base shapes or copying features from other terrains. For now, World Creator 3 introduces 33 filters to modify terrains and mimic the effects of erosion and sediment deposition on the landscape.

You can also create ridges, cliffs, canyons, plateaus, and other geographical features with the new filters.

Additionally, World Creator 3 can import Substance 3D Designer materials in SBSAR format and edit them in the software.

The new version lacks some of its predecessors' features: for example, you can't generate tiled terrains or add 3D assets, lights, particles, and cameras to a scene yet. These features will be added in the next update.

You can purchase World Creator 3 for $16.90/month, $169/year, or $349 for a perpetual license.
