The Elder Scrolls 6 Has Entered Early Development

But Bethesda is busy with Starfield, so don't expect to hear much any time soon.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced at E3 2018, but not much has been shared about it since. In 2021, the game was in the design phase, last year, it was in pre-production. However, today is the day for all TES fans to quench their thirst a little: the game has finally entered production.

In an interview with Vandal, Bethesda Softworks' Vice President Pete Hines shared that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in development, "but it's in early development." This might not sound like much, but the thought that a team of creators is working on the long-awaited sequel to the famous franchise right now warms my heart.

"Yes, there are people working on The Elder Scrolls 6," Hines said (via PCGamesN). "But [Starfield] is what the studio has focused on. We have put all of our studios focused on making this game the best it can be."

Unfortunately, Hines didn't offer any other information, although it's not surprising: the studio is busy with Starfield, due on September 1 in early access and September 6 for those without it, and chances are you will not hear anything about TES 6 any time soon, especially considering it's "five-plus years away" from launch.

Maybe the constant anticipation and questions about the RPG are why Todd Howard wishes to have announced it "more casually."

So far, speculation says TES 6 could be set in Hammerfell, home of the Redguards.
