The Hacker Allegedly Behind the GTA 6 Leak Is Being Investigated by the FBI

It's said this is the same person who also compromised Uber.

The hacker allegedly behind the GTA 6 massive leak is being investigated by the FBI. Interestingly, Uber believes it's the same person that compromised its system last week.

"There are also reports over the weekend that this same actor breached video game maker Rockstar Games. We are in close coordination with the FBI and US Department of Justice on this matter and will continue to support their efforts," Uber wrote.

Uber thinks the hacking group Lapsus$ is responsible for the breach. Earlier this year, Lapsus$ attacked Microsoft and NVIDIA among other companies. In March, BBC News reported that a 16-year-old teenager from Oxford was accused of being one of the leaders of the group.

A couple of days ago, Rockstar confirmed the Grand Theft Auto VI footage was indeed stolen from the company and expressed its disappointment. At the same time, the hacker tried to sell the game's source code.
