Talented Senior Environment Texture Artist Jonathan Benainous has left Naughty Dog after 3.5 years of working there. During that time, he worked on The Last of Us Part 1 and the online version of the game, which was canceled eventually.
"Joining this studio was an absolute dream come true for me. It's been my goal for the past 17 years, and being part of this team, making games here, has been an incredible achievement that I'll always be proud of," Benainous said on X/Twitter.
However, he had been offered an opportunity to set up a material department at another company and contribute to shaping a new IP, and the creator agreed because "mentoring artists has always been incredibly important to [him]." He thanked his team and wished Naughty Dog luck with its future projects.
