But that's not certain.
Larian Studios
The next game by Larian Studios, best known for Baldur's Gate 3, may come out in 2029, as its CEO Swen Vincke said at the SEA Game Awards 2024. However, he immediately clarified that it was a joke.
Yesterday, at the award ceremony, which was held in Malaysia, the development studio received a Special Recognition Award. While speaking to the audience, its Lead Swen Vincke said: "We need to work hard on the next game so we can be back here in five years." However, shortly after, he said it was a joke and explained: "I don't know, we'll release it when it's ready. They're big games, and it takes time, so don't hold us to a date."
Larian Studios
Back in March, Swen Vincke shared that the studio had moved on from its titles Baldur Gate and Dungeons and Dragons and didn't plan to expand them or make any sequels. Later, Larian's Director of Publishing Michael Douse said that the studio's next game would probably initially launch in early access, similar to Baldur's Gate 3.
Recently, Larian Studios launched its YouTube channel to share behind-the-scenes moments and promised that Swen Vincke would also make a cameo. Currently, there are over ten videos on the channel, including interviews with Larian's developers and atmospheric videos with Baldur Gate 3's ambiance.
