The Remaster Of An Iconic FPS From 90's Is Coming Soon

Almost three decades since its initial launch, this classic first-person shooter game will be brought back "just like you remember it, but ENHANCED."

Nightdive Studios, known for bringing lost and forgotten gaming treasures back to life, is reportedly working on a remaster of the iconic 90s first-person shooter game, PO'ed.

Originally launched in 1995, PO'ed is an exhilarating space shooter game. Set on an alien-infested planet, players take on the role of a chef who crash-lands and has to fight off a host of extraterrestrial adversaries.

The remastered PO'ed: Definitive Edition promises enhanced visuals, antialiasing, a higher frame rate, and redefined controls, giving a fresh spin to the classic shooter. It also boasts up to 4K / 144 FPS performance, ensuring a smooth and immersive gaming experience.

Take a look at the key features of the Definitive Edition:

  • A plate full of quality-of-life features to enhance the gameplay and fix bugs present in the original game (which can be toggled off).
  • Wet your whistle with Widescreen support to HUD and other on-screen graphics to work with widescreen.
  • A new delicious difficulty mode added for hardcore players
  • 15 appetizing achievements.
  • A dash of Localization support for English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
  • Total freedom! Cruise on foot or fly with your jetpack through 25 wild 3D environments.
  • Features 16 of the baddest, maddest and most unaffectionate monsters in the galaxy.

Nightdive Studios' recent successful remaster of Star Wars: Dark Forces, which received a 9/10 rating and was hailed as an 'absolute must-play for fans of far-away galactic conflict' by Nintendo Life, is a reassuring testament to the potential quality of the upcoming PO'ed remaster.

The game is set to launch on Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A specific release date has not been announced yet, with "coming soon" currently listed on Steam. You can follow the developer on Twitter to be updated.
