Nedy Loayza showcased an impressive cowboy outfit based on Geordie Martinez's tutorial.
Have a look at this impressive cloth simulation created for a digital cowboy outfit by a talented FX Artist Nedy Loayza. Based on a technique shown in Geordie Martinez's 2021 tutorial, the simulation was set up in Houdini, SideFX's flagship procedural 3D software, using Vellum – the application's simulation framework that employs an extended Position Based Dynamics approach and can be used to create cloth, hair, soft bodies, balloons, and grains.
If you'd like to learn how this simulation was made, we highly recommend checking out Geordie Martinez's original tutorial, available via CGCircuit. The guide covers the process of creating a multi-layer cloth setup in Houdini from beginning to end, discusses point-deforming and cache-blending sims, and explains the most challenging parts of the workflow in more depth.
