Rayan Zomorodi impressed thousands of people with an absolutely incredible 3D render set up in Blender.
3D Artist and Cinematographer Rayan Zomorodi, also known as geng94, has recently impressed thousands of people over on Reddit by unveiling what can only be described as one of, if not the most photorealistic 3D scenes of the passing year.
Created almost entirely in Blender without scans, the scene depicts several highly-detailed objects lying on a window sill, modeled and textured by Rayan with the goal being to "create something photorealistic". To set up the lifelike camera movements, the author has leveraged the VirtuCamera app to control the camera in Blender by using an iPhone. Additionally, the creator utilized Blue Inversion's Rainy Window Shader, which, according to Rayan, is the only part of the project that wasn't hand-made.
As a testament to just how good the final render turned out to be, it was even removed by mods of r/blender on Reddit, who, presumably, didn't believe it to be CG:
To prove that it is indeed a 3D scene, the author has released the wireframe for the whole render, which you can check out in full over here:
Furthermore, the artist has also shared a series of static shots:
And published a concise breakdown, explaining some of the production steps behind the project and sharing some tutorials and resources that might help you achieve a similar result.
We highly encourage you to visit Rayan's Instagram and Reddit pages to learn more about this marvelous project.
