This Blender Add-On Lets You Draw Animation Paths in Viewport

Motion Painter by NodeMonkey allows for painting motion paths in Blender's viewport and creating editable keyframes.

NodeMonkey has released Motion Painter, a Blender add-on that allows for creating object animation by drawing motion paths directly in the viewport instead of keyframing manually on the timeline.

With the tool, a painted stroke becomes an editable guide, which the add-on then converts into standard Blender location and rotation keyframes.

The tool includes several viewport tools: Motion Paint for freehand strokes, Motion Polygon for straight or connected segments, Motion Eraser, and Motion Select, along with a set of built-in brushes such as Follow, Orbit, Wave, Push/Pull, and Explosion. Each of them produces a distinct motion behavior. Artists can also stack and blend multiple paths, apply rotation behaviors like Follow Direction or Spin, and link guides to native Blender curves for further manual editing.

The tool offers two motion modes: Rail, designed for precise single-object movement along the drawn path, and Forcefield, which lets groups of objects follow the path together while keeping their spacing. Once an animation is created, artists can convert it into standard editable keyframes.

Before, NodeMonkey also shared Inertia, a Geometry Nodes-powered add-on that creates accurate trajectories, rotations, and gravity-based motion:
