One of the reasons why it's fun to play for magic users is the creative spells they have, like the one VFX artist Gabriel Domingues made for a challenge hosted by MadVFX, an educational platform focused on real-time VFX training.
The topic was explosions, and he truly delivered, presenting a skeleton conjured from blood and detonating next to the enemy.
"Aimed for practicing blood shaders and some liquid feeling emitters, as well as using decals. Ended up creating these sort of living skeleton walking bomb," Domingues said.
This is not his first project for MadVFX. For the Square Challenge, he created a cool Rubik's Cube projectile effect, also in Unreal Engine.
