This Classic Horror Inspired by Silent Hill Could Have Made It to TGA If Developer Had $1 Million

Game developers are using a new trend to show off their trailers.

Not long ago, we learned that showing a three-minute trailer at The Game Awards costs about $1 million this year – an unfathomable price for most developers, so they decided to showcase their games for free on X/Twitter in a new trend.

"I didn't have $1 million for a Game Awards trailer so I'm posting my game here instead for free," say dozens of creators, including HideWorks, a studio behind Liminal Point, a classic psychological survival horror inspired by Silent Hill.

It follows Lyra, "a once-rising rock star, as she uncovers the haunting truth behind the disappearance of her bandmate, Mira." She will explore an eerie island to learn the truth and fight horrifying monsters to escape alive.

Liminal Point should be out in 2026, but you can already wishlist it on Steam.
