This Course Will Teach You To Build Cinematic Island Scenes In Houdini

If you've ever stared at an empty viewport wondering how artists create full environments from scratch, this one is for you.

Arvid Schneider, renowned for his tutorials, has launched a new masterclass that will teach you how to create a tropical island from scratch. With over 15 hours of instruction, the course combines theoretical concepts with hands-on practice, ensuring you finish with portfolio-ready skills.

By the end, you'll be able to build production-quality terrain using Houdini heightfields and KTT, design realistic biome systems with scattering tools, shade environments using MaterialX for Karma XPU rendering, and composite cinematic final renders in Nuke.

The course requires basic Houdini knowledge, Houdini Indie or higher, Nuke, KTT plug-in, vegetation libraries such as Maxtree or SpeedTree, and Megascans assets via Fab.
