This Game Simulates Blurry Vision From Wearing Contact Lenses Too Long
You can't disable this feature in Super VHS.
In case you missed it, Super VHS is a first-person sandbox exploration game set in the Red Letter Media warehouse, created by Indie Game Developer Jon, also known as EVILEMPIRE. Everything in the game is interactive: pick up and destroy items, unlock doors, and explore a meticulously recreated world that mirrors the real-life warehouse with 1-to-1 accuracy.
Things get pretty funny and strange: the only immersive sim element in Super VHS is dry eyes from wearing contact lenses for too long. Canonically, the player has had them for a while, so you'll need to manually blink, or your vision will start to blur. The more you blink, the clearer your vision, but the game gets more annoying. This feature can't be turned off.
This project has evolved a lot over time, and it's fascinating to see the developer expand beyond just RLM, incorporating new ideas and techniques he's learned, like advanced physics. Check out some of the recent updates for Super VHS below.
