A few weeks ago, Jack of Branta Games released an intriguing video featuring a unique effect: objects animated on a random field of black-and-white pixels are only visible when they move. While the concept isn't entirely new, as Jack was inspired by Chris Long's recent videos on this phenomenon in computers from the '80s, the developer took it further by trying different versions and ultimately turning it into an additive cyclic noise shader for Godot.
Naturally, he realized that this persistence of vision effect could be a perfect fit for a horror game (more like a "Nobody will believe you" game), where you can never get a picture of your enemies.
