This Minecraft Mod Lets You Control Giant Sphere That Absorbs Blocks

KatamariIO is available for downloading.

Check out KatamariIO, a Minecraft mod from TACOWASA059 and aprogramq, where a giant sphere rolls through the world, absorbing voxel blocks around it and growing larger with each one collected.

The mod gives players control of a sphere that expands by pulling in the blocks it encounters. TACOWASA059 shared some technical details and explained that during development, two versions were built: a physics-based one and a geometry calculation one. The geometry calculation approach ultimately proved smoother and less demanding on performance, making it the version that shipped. The project is available on GitHub

Another great piece of news for those following the franchise: Minecraft Dungeons II, the sequel to an action RPG set in the dungeons of the voxel-based universe, is said to be released this year.
