Modern technology keeps getting better and enabling talented artists to create crazy 3D scenes. Just look at this path-traced forest made by JSFILMZ in Unreal Engine 5.3. I swear it looks more realistic than what I see with my own eyes. Be warned though: the footage is pretty shaky, so if you have motion sickness, just believe my words and the thumbnail picture.
The creator used GeForce RTX 4090, and it still took a while to render, so don't expect to see something like this in games any time soon.

In case you don't know, path tracing, or full ray tracing, accurately simulates light throughout the entire scene and makes it look more real than what we're used to seeing on the screen. NVIDIA has showcased the difference between Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing and without it multiple times, and you can't ignore how it changes the visuals.
JSFILMZ is a master of photorealism; you can see it not only in environments but also in people made with MetaHuman. The artist has also used NVIDIA Omniverse and iClone to make a Star Wars-inspired short film, which you can watch here.
