This RPG Brings Cosmic Horror to an Anime Pixel Art Style

The monsters are weirdly cute.

If you like horror with a cute style, you might like the game VOID DIVER: Escape from the Abyss, which is a 2.5D pixel art action RPG that will have you recovering artifacts from city dungeons.

You'll have to command "Divers" as their manager, exploring, fighting against the creatures, and surviving the madness. You'll be able to play in multiplayer mode or solo.

Each character has their own skills and narratives, giving you a variety of combat styles. Some parts of the city have fused with another dimension, turning them into weird zones, full of otherworldly monsters, rampaging machines, urban legends come to life, and humans driven to madness.

You'll have to sell the artifacts you find in your antique shop "BALUSHA", which is in the heart of the city. As you progress and find relics, the city's secrets will be revealed.

Studio Nemo, the developer studio behind the game, has shared some behind-the-scenes footage of the creation process. Check them out:

The creatures in the game have been inspired by Lovecraftian horror and Korean and Icelandic folklore. The developers also shared some of the ones you'll find in the game:

The game is set to be released in 2026. You can try the demo or add it to your wishlist on Steam. You can follow Studio Nemo on Twitter/X to learn more about the game.
