Martin Chang, a talented Game Animator known online as TuxedoPato, continues experimenting with Sasaca's CG femme fatale character model, showcasing what may be one of the smoothest 3D animations you’ve seen in a while.
Exuding pure anime vibes, Martin's new sequence features the character doing the splits while simultaneously unsheathing a katana from its scabbard, resulting in a stylish animation reminiscent of Japanese fighting games. While the artist hasn't shared much about his creative process, it's well-known that he primarily uses Maya for his animations, making it almost a certainty that Autodesk's flagship software was the main driving force behind this impressive sequence.
Earlier, Martin also depicted the girl running and jumping around and leaving a striking trail of ink-like footprints behind her:
And prior to that, the creator showcased the rig itself, emphasizing that it is fully hand-keyed and doesn't feature any cloth simulation:
