Ubisoft Fires Another 55 Employees Due to an "Organizational Restructure"
This time, Massive Entertainment and the Stockholm studio are the affected ones.
Ubisoft has been firing people left and right since 2024, and now, with the news that it will lay off 55 more employees from Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm, it doesn't seem to have any plans to stop anytime soon.

"Earlier today, we informed all employees in our Swedish studios (Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm) about a proposed organizational restructure that may affect approximately 55 roles across Malmö and Stockholm," said the studio in a statement.
"These proposed changes are forward-looking and structural, they are not related to individual performance, recent deliveries, or the quality of the work produced by the teams," declared Ubisoft, and added that the impacted employees were being "informed directly and supported with care and respect in line with local regulations."
Last week, it was also reported that the Halifax studio was shut down, leaving 71 workers without a job, and once again, it was said that it was to streamline operations. And even though Ubisoft had faced problems with that studio in the past, a spokesperson said that had nothing to do with the decision.
Previously, they announced a course reduction plan, which, simply speaking, means canceling ongoing projects, closing studios, and firing developers, all of this as a way of recovering the company, and it seems to be the only plan of action right now.
