Introduces a dedicated alpha channel, a decal constraint option, and numerous other improvements.
After several months of development since its May release, the latest version of ucupumar's Blender add-on is finally out. Ucupaint 2.4 brings a host of new features, UI improvements, performance enhancements, and bug fixes, making the free layer-based texturing tool more powerful than ever.
One of the major highlights of Ucupaint 2.4 is the addition of a dedicated alpha channel, this video shows some examples of how to use it:
Also, Ucupaint 2.4.0 introduces a decal constraint option to make the decal always stick to the surface. Francesco Piacenti, known as FR3NKD, has once again quickly showcased Ucupaint's impressive capabilities:
Additionally, Ucupaint now has a button that lets you copy layers from a Ucupaint material in the Blender Asset Library into your current Ucupaint material. Here's a list of some of the other big changes:
- "Smoothness" suffix in the file name is now detectable for loading images to a single layer;
- Other object color baking is now available for creating a mask;
- Mirror modifier will be temporarily applied when sculpting VDM images if Mirror U/V is enabled. This will make it possible to sculpt at the mirrored mesh;
- New operator in the normal channel cog wheel button to apply all VDM layers to the multires modifier;
- OSL option is now available for layer/mask baking;
- New option to add Ambient Occlusion channel after Quick Setup;
- New option to use transparency for missing ray in other object normal baking;
- Layer alpha is now selectable as the layer channel source.
