JangaFX has released project files behind Jason Key's experiment with volumetric clouds in Unreal Engine 5.
Earlier this month, Principal VFX Artist at JangaFX Jason Key demonstrated the stunning results of an experiment with volumetric clouds in Unreal Engine 5. The artist used UE5, VDBs crafted in EmberGen, and Eidos-Montréal's "OpenVDB and NanoVDB for Unreal" plug-in to set up a realistic cloudscape that could react to various lighting conditions.
Now, a little less than two weeks since the initial project was revealed, JangaFX, the creator of EmberGen, a real-time fluid simulation tool for creating fire, smoke, and explosions, has released the project files behind Jason's experiment. Now, everyone can study the volumetric clouds made by the artist and recreate them in their projects. What's more, the files can be downloaded for free. You can download them by clicking this link.
