UE5-Powered Final Fantasy IX Memoria Project Gets a New Gameplay Demo

Developers behind the "non-profit love letter" to Square Enix's 2000 RPG have shared a new half-an-hour demo.

In case you missed it, back in 2022, we reported on Memoria Project, a non-playable game concept that aims to imagine how Square Enix's 2000 RPG Final Fantasy IX could look if it was remade with modern graphical capabilities.

Since then, the project's development team grew substantially, with over 50 professional developers and artists now working on the proof-of-concept remake of FFIX, united in the goal of reimagining their favorite game as if it was released today.

Providing an update on their ambitious project, the team has recently shared a new half-an-hour gameplay demo for Memoria Project, showcasing its visual style, gameplay mechanics, animations, environments, characters, and more. According to the developers, the game concept is powered by Unreal Engine 5. You can check out the full demo attached above or by visiting the team's YouTube channel.
