Unity Unveils AI-Powered Unity Muse & Unity Sentis

Both tools, now in closed beta, were designed to accelerate creation time and complement your workflows.

Unity Technologies has officially announced two brand-new AI-powered tools – Unity Muse, a comprehensive platform that incorporates AI-driven assistance to aid creators during the development process, and Unity Sentis, which enables users to integrate neural networks into their creations.

Designed to expedite creation time, seamlessly integrate with existing workflows, and enhance productivity across various domains such as gaming, entertainment, and industrial applications, both tools have entered closed beta, with the company planning to utilize user feedback to refine and enhance the platforms.

The first tool presented by Unity, Unity Muse, is an AI-powered platform that significantly speeds up the creation of real-time 3D applications and experiences, including video games and digital twins. According to the team, the long-term objective of Muse is to empower users to effortlessly generate a wide range of content within the Unity Editor using natural inputs like text prompts and sketches.

Additionally, the Muse platform offers Muse Chat, a feature that leverages AI-based search capabilities across Unity's extensive documentation, training resources, and support content. With Muse Chat, users can access well-structured, precise, and up-to-date information from Unity's knowledge base.

The second toolset, Unity Sentis, empowers you to integrate an AI model in the Unity Runtime for your game or application, elevating gameplay and other features directly on end-user platforms.

As stated by the developer, Sentis facilitates the execution of AI models on any device that supports Unity, standing out as the pioneer and sole cross-platform solution for embedding AI models into a dynamic 3D engine. The tool allows you to develop your model once and embed it, enabling it to operate on various platforms, ranging from mobile and PC to web and game consoles.

Additionally, the company announced that they are making AI Verified Solutions – third-party packages from such developers as Atlas, Convai, Inworld AI, Layer AI, Leonardo Ai, LMNT, Modl.ai, Polyhive, Replica Studios, and Zibra AI – available via the Unity Asset Store. According to Unity, the new solutions enable AI-powered smart NPCs, AI-produced VFX, textures, 2D sprites and 3D models, generative speech, in-gaming testing with AI, and more.

"We believe that every aspect of the creative process, from systems to objects to pixels, will be impacted by AI – and so will all of the resulting runtime characters, worlds, and experiences," commented Unity. "We've been building a suite of AI tools that promise to accelerate creation time and complement your workflows by finding information and generating draft assets as quickly as typing in a text prompt or scribbling a sketch. From there, you could integrate work with familiar tooling to revise and edit the assets you need at a speed that's unimaginable with today's workflows."
