Chaos has released V-Ray 7 for Blender, Update 1, introducing new and improved features to its production renderer.
With the Cycles-to-V-Ray Material Converter, you can render "essential" Cycles materials directly in V-Ray and automatically turn them into V-Ray equivalents, so you don't have to recreate your favorite materials. For now, only some materials are available, but Chaos promises to expand the library in the future.

The next exciting update is V-Ray's support for out-of-the-box rendering for Blender’s Geometry Node setups. "From intricate parametric surfaces to vast environment scattering, you can use complex procedural geometry directly in V-Ray without baking or conversion, keeping projects lightweight and flexible all the way through production."

Moreover, you can now enjoy over 3,100 ultra-realistic scanned materials, including metals, leathers, papers, plastics, and rubbers, with the Chaos Scans library. Cosmos will be growing to over 30,000 high-poly and 14,000 low-poly assets, with an AI Material Generator in the plans.
The software now also has the OpenPBR mode in the V-Ray Material for "consistent shading across compatible applications."
"With Update 1, V-Ray for Blender becomes more deeply integrated into the way you already work. Whether you’re bringing in your Cycles materials, rendering complex Geometry Node setups, or dialing in physically accurate materials, every addition in this release is designed to help you create your most realistic and production-ready renders yet."
You can use all these fun features with Blender 4.5, so hurry up and get V-Ray now from Chaos's site.
