Vampire Survivors Creators Are Working on 15+ Projects Including Games, DLC, and More

After redefining the “bullet heaven” genre with Vampire Survivors, poncle is scaling up with a broad slate of spin-offs, collaborations, and new IP.

Following the breakout success of Vampire Survivors, developer poncle is significantly scaling up its output, with more than 15 projects currently in development across new games, free updates, spin-offs, DLC, collaborations, and more.

According to recent reports, the studio has shifted its focus away from its earlier publishing initiative to concentrate on building out a broader internal and partner-driven pipeline. That includes expanding its presence with smaller teams in regions like Japan and Italy, signaling a more distributed development strategy as the company grows.

The scale of that pipeline reflects just how impactful Vampire Survivors has been since its 2022 launch. The game helped define the now-ubiquitous “bullet heaven” subgenre and quickly became one of the most influential indie hits of the decade, spawning a wave of similar titles and spin-offs across the industry.

Now, poncle appears intent on leveraging that momentum in multiple directions at once. The reported slate includes additional spin-offs tied directly to Vampire Survivors, as well as “Survivor-like” projects developed in collaboration with external partners, and completely new original games.

We’re already seeing early signs of that strategy take shape. One example is Vampire Crawlers, a recently released spin-off that reimagines the core formula as a roguelike deckbuilder with dungeon-crawling elements, showing how the team is willing to experiment with genre shifts while retaining the core progression hooks that made the original so successful.

What’s notable is how this approach differs from traditional indie scaling. Rather than building a single larger sequel, poncle is effectively turning Vampire Survivors into a platform for iteration by reusing assets, systems, and design principles across multiple projects to accelerate development and reduce overhead.
