Xsolla Partners With Busan to Position the City as a Game Development Hub

The list of core initiatives includes launching a cutting-edge talent development center for game developers in Busan.

Xsolla has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Digital Asset Nexus Co (BDAN), aiming to position Busan as a global hub for game development and technological innovation.

The list of core initiatives includes establishing Xsolla's Asia-Pacific (APAC) headquarters in Busan, launching a cutting-edge talent development center for game developers, and exploring advancements in Web3 technologies to drive regional economic and digital growth. According to the company, the agreement represents a shared dedication to fostering innovation, creating opportunities for local talent, and solidifying Busan's reputation as a leader in the gaming and digital industries.

"This partnership is a testament to Busan's incredible potential as a center for gaming and technology," comented Rytis Joseph Jan, SVP of Global Strategic Partnerships at Xsolla. "By collaborating with BDAN and Busan City, we aim to create opportunities for local talent and businesses while contributing to the economic and technological growth of the region."

One of the partnership's primary goals is establishing Xsolla's APAC headquarters in Busan. This initiative will create new employment opportunities, strengthen collaboration with local and international partners, and serve as a central hub for game commerce activities. The new headquarters aligns with Busan's vision of becoming a global gaming and digital innovation leader.

In addition to the APAC headquarters, Xsolla and BDAN are developing a talent center to support local game developers and entrepreneurs. Acting as an incubator and accelerator, the center will provide mentorship, resources, and funding opportunities to help creators thrive in a competitive industry. This initiative will empower the next generation of innovators and reinforce Busan's position as a key player in the global gaming sector.

"This partnership demonstrates Busan's potential to become a global leader in the gaming and digital industries," said Busan Mayor Park Hyung-Joon. "We look forward to collaborating with Xsolla and BDAN to strengthen our city’s digital competitiveness and foster new economic opportunities."
