Yennefer's Key Won't be a Common Item in The Witcher 3 Next-Gen

The upcoming patch removes one of the game's most iconic memes.

With the release of the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being just around the corner, more and more information about the upcoming game surfaces every day. A couple of days ago, it became known that on top of graphical updates and a new quest, the patch also removes one of the most memetic mistakes of the original game.

As noticed by GameSpot, the next-gen update fixes the key to Yennefer's room, removing the "common item" tag and replacing it with "relic", a description used to mark the rarest of items. CD Projekt Red themselves reacted to the observation, confirming that the change will indeed be present in the upcoming release.

Recently, the developer has also shared a list of some of The Witcher 3's most popular mods and marked which of them are compatible with the upgrade and which are not. According to CDPR, often-used All Quest Objectives On Map, Weight limit, and Fast Travel from Anywhere mods will be compatible with the next-gen version of the game.

For those unaware, The next-gen version of The Witcher 3 is coming on December 14 to  PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and promises to feature tons of graphical improvements, DLSS 3 support, an alternative camera option, the Photo Mode, quest fixes and a new quest inspired by Netflix's Witcher series, and more.
