"You Need to Calm Down Unreal": Neat Combat Animations in UE5

Brought to life using Blueprints, Flipbook, and Keyframe.

"OK, you need to calm down Unreal". This was the reaction of Jason Hendrich, a Game Developer and brilliant 3D Animator, after he experimented with Unreal Engine 5's animation capabilities and put them to the test by setting up a dynamic sequence of energetic combat moves.

Portraying a character performing impressive acrobatic maneuvers with swordplay and gun-fu, Jason's animation is a striking blend of fluid movements and stylized visual effects, making it look like it was taken from or created for a AAA video game. According to the creator, the sequence was brought to life in UE5 using keyframe animation and Blueprints, along with the latter's Flipbook Components.
