A Free Blender Add-on for Creating Curved Surfaces in No Time

Another useful and easy-to-use tool presented by 3D Artist and Add-on Maker Kushiro.

3D Artist and Add-on Maker Kushiro has presented a new add-on for Blender called Quick Fillet, a nice tool for creating curved surfaces (quads) using cross-section edges. Again, it is totally free to use.

As shown in the demo above, simply select from three orientations, even though errors won’t occur if they are flat, and the tool calculates and presents the quads in no time. But be sure to select an even number of edges, like 2, 4, 6, etc., and all the edge sets are supposed to have the same number of edges.

Kushiro has created many other great plug-ins available to make modeling so much easier. Feel free to check them out:

  • Safe Inset, which allows you to inset faces without them overlapping
  • Soft Bevel, which simplifies the creation of rounded meshes and enables you to bevel a selected mesh without self-overlapping.
  • Alpha Quad, a retopology tool for selected faces.
  • Bend Face, a tool for rotating/moving faces.

In addition to those mentioned above, you can find a full list of all 48 useful tools for modeling and procedural graphics created by Kushiro here.

Grab the Quick Fillet and learn how to use it from this link and follow the creator on Twitter to receive notification about their newest creation.
