A 3D Take on Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty

Yan Blanco presented an unusual version of Rick made in Blender.

3D Artist Yan Blanco has transferred Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty to our dim reality. The resulting model turned out to be more realistic than in the show, fitting the creator's special style perfectly.

This Rick is made using Blender, Substance 3D Painter, and ZBrush and has a curious sort of doom and indifference in his eyes.

"My first try doing Rick was back in 2016 when I was learning Blender, but after some time struggling with it, I dropped the project. In 2021 I started it again with more experience, but after some time working on it I had to step back for some reasons, like lack of time and motivation. But in the last few months I found some energy to retake it and now I'm glad that it's finished. I learned a lot of things from this project, but the most important thing was learning how to manage long projects with personal time."

Blanco started the project in Maya for the lookdev but later moved it to Blender to learn the new hair system with Geometry Nodes and test the AgX color profile.

This look is similar to the Stimpy project Blanco shared last year. If you like the aesthetic, check out his ArtStation for more.
