A More Realistic Take on Stimpy From The Ren & Stimpy Show

The character was recreated in 3D using Blender, Maya, ZBrush, and Substance 3D Painter.

3D Artist Yan Blanco, known to many for creating stunning, albeit a bit gruesome, 3D recreations of various cartoon characters, continues the series with one more repulsive yet extremely captivating project. This time, the artist shared a more realistic and off-putting take on Stimpy from John Kricfalusi's legendary Ren & Stimpy Show, recreating the character in 3D using Blender, Maya, ZBrush, and Substance 3D Painter. According to the author, the decision to make Stimpy was dictated by the character's simple body shape, allowing the artist to focus more on the details and the character's looks.

What's more, the entire working process was live-streamed by the artist on YouTube, so if you are interested, you can check out the recording as well for a more in-depth look. Please note that all the videos are in Portuguese and, at the moment of writing this, there are no English subtitles. You can check out the full series by clicking this link.
