A Procedural City Generator Made with Houdini & UE5

Simon Verstraete's new generator utilizes Houdini's Point Clouds and Curves.

Technical Artist and Houdini guru Simon Verstraete has unveiled an impressive low poly city generator made using Houdini and Unreal Engine 5. According to the creator, the generator utilizes Houdini's Point Clouds for the placement of assets and the Curve node to make the cars drive around the streets of the procedurally-generated metropolis. As for the assets themselves, the author used one of Synty Studios' packs.

Besides creating outstanding projects, Simon is also well known for producing comprehensive tutorials on using Houdini for a variety of projects. Just recently, the artist shared an in-depth tutorial on using Houdini 19.5's SOP FLIP nodes, showing how to set up basic simulations and demonstrating multiple example projects made with this set of nodes.
