"Incredible results with very little manual work."
Matt Workman, a renowned Cinematographer, Developer of Cine Tracer, and owner of the Cinematography Database YouTube channel, has showcased a brand-new motion capture setup that combines Vicon's VFX and mocap software Shogun and Unreal Engine 5.
As stated by the developer, the mocap system leverages the new Vicon Shogun MetaHuman Integration and the new IK Retargeting workflow present in Unreal Engine 5.3, allowing to achieve "incredible results with very little manual work". The demo runs on NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GPU.
Previously, Matt also revealed multiple real-time clothing simulations made by combining MetaHuman clothing assets with the new Chaos, a light-weight physics simulation solution present in Unreal Engine 5:
And prior to that, the developer experimented with real-time clothing physics, showcasing a cool UE-powered cloth sim that could run on consumer gaming cards:
