AMD is making its FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 even more accessible with the newest plug-in for Unreal Engine. The package also includes the FSR2MovieRenderPipeline plug-in, which enables the use of FSR 2.0 to accelerate rendering when using the Unreal Movie Render Queue.
The plug-in is intended for Unreal Engine 4.26.2 or later, including Unreal Engine 5.
Earlier, AMD open sourced FSR 2.0 with an MIT license.
FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 is an upscaling solution that uses temporal algorithms to reconstruct geometric and texture detail, producing anti-aliased output from aliased input.
Developers and modders are already implementing the tech in games. For example, you can play Cyberpunk 2077 with doubled frames with this mod replacing DLSS with FSR 2.0.
